Susan,
Here is some information about an
organization that specializes in recycling programs on colleges and university
campuses:
In December, 1994, the California Collegiate Recycling Council
(CCRC) http://www.crra.com was formed as a technical council
of California Resource Recovery Association
(CRRA). Their purpose is to address the specific needs
of waste prevention and recycling programs on colleges and university
campuses. They also plan to provide
CRRA with recycling and academic contacts within colleges and
universities. They believe that by
providing aggressive waste prevention and recycling programs on
campus they set a positive example for the
students they're education, as well
as, provide enlightened examples of applied resource recovery and waste
prevention activities in the institutional setting. For more information, CONTACT: Julie Muir, phone (650)321-4236 juliem@pssi.stanford.edu
CCRC GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Increase communication among California colleges and universities on waste reduction and recycling related issues. Establish localized network to assist colleges and universities with establishing and expanding programs. Integrate waste reduction and recycling concepts into academic curriculum.
