I see it as have "A Clear Conscience" by making efforts to recycle no matter where you are.  All kind of sources of energy are used in the process of manufacturing, so, of course recycling helps reduce depletion of 
material from natural and does help in reducing global warming.

It is not only recycling that counts.  Thoughts and ideas like in this cartoon that provoke some debate about recycling and taking action to create awareness about global warming.
