[GreenYes] Re: biosolids

Hi Peter ~

I don't know the national numbers, but in Wisconsin, well over 90% of biosolids are recovered by landspreading, mostly on agricultural land,

My point exactly. More good questions then follow (or proceed) your question:

* What is regional & national volume of biosolids going to landfill?

* Is regional/national biosolids disposal trending to ADC?

* What is capacity of landfills to absorb these tons as ADC and what happens when capacity is reached?

In a message dated 8/14/2006 10:51:08 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, pslote@no.address writes:But due to the absence of local composting processing capacity for waste water
treatment residue (including food scraps residue), and the shrinking
capacity/higher cost for land application, this material is increasing
sent to landfill as ADC (90% in 2005).

Which raises the question;
What is all this organic material and water doing in a landfill?
