Re: [greenyes] seeking clever "reduce, reuse, recycle" lists

Hi GreenYes,

I would think that seniors need more lighting than younger people with
better eyesight, thus, the seniors likely use many more lights on in their
apartments. Yes we can suggest that the "seniors" do things that are
"environmental", however, it would be more productive to see what we can
get the building manager to do on their behalf as a group.

Maybe you can suggest to the apartment manager to have a little "class" in
the apartment complex assembly space on compact fluorescent lamps. I bet a
good portion of those seniors have not even heard of that technology or
understand what it is. Not would the class inform them, bring them
together as a group and encourage community, it would also reduce their
electricity bill - good for seniors on a budget. Maybe the utility company
would wish to participate in that effort for PR, etc...

The manager can also set up a building process or system to recycle
compact fluorescent lamp for them.
