[greenyes] safe, environmentally friendly ways to remove graffitti

I am interested in suggestions/advice about cleaning spray-painted graffiti 
off a smooth stone building exterior.  Baking soda, "elbow grease," and 
non-scratch scrubbies have helped some, but there is still much defacement 
on the building.
