[greenyes] US Postal office

Hello All -
I spoke with Fran McPoland (former Federal Environmental Executive, who now
works for the paper industry). She told me that the recycling policies are
made at the local level - no longer at the national level throught their
Environmental Office at the National Postal Service HQs. They instead moved
the recycling/waste management oversight to the Purchasing Department.
She will try to get me the phone number for the correct person in the
Purchasing Dept. so that I can follow-up. However, be assured that the
decision to recycle is local - so grassroots pressure on your local
office(s) is the key to making sure recycling continues - or is implemented
in your community.
Sincerely,
Christine McCoy
