The Rockford Health System sponsored Kids' Castle is a "Fee Free" venue
offering interactive and make-and-take activities for children and their
families. Past activities have included friendship bracelets, finger
casting, sand art and a children's chess tournament.
This year, we will be concentrating our efforts on environmental activities
to enhance our new recycling program. Past activities have included
friendship bracelets, finger casting, sand art and a children's chess
tournament. Educating our children about the importance of protecting and
preserving our environment is essential to the future of recycling and our
environment. With your help, we will inspire children to recycle, purchase
recycled products, and teach others to recycle as well. A domino effect will
be created and gain momentum as each person learns the value of recycling and
preserving our environment and continues to pass their knowledge on to
others.
As a Not-For-Profit organization, there is "no cost" to participate. Your
only requirement is to provide an interactive activity of your choice,
required supplies and the appropriate volunteers to staff your area.
The Kid's Castle, located in the Wyman and Elm Street Parking Deck, is open
Saturday and Sunday of the Festival from 11:30am to 6pm. Last year this
venue attracted approximately 2500 children each day. Add to this number
parents, grandparents and older siblings and your organization has the
potential to be "seen" by up to 1000 people an hour! This is an excellent
opportunity to promote your organization to a large number of people, from
all demographic backgrounds, in a fun filled environment. Kid's Castle set-up
will begin on August 29, 2003 at 11am - 3pm and again on Saturday, August 30,
2003 from 7am -10am. Your set-up must be completed by 10am on Saturday,
August 30, 2003. No vehicles are allowed on Festival grounds during Festival
hours, therefore any vehicles needed for set-up or tear-down, are only
allowed access during scheduled set-up times or after Festival close each
evening, 12pm on Saturday and 11pm on Sunday.
On the Waterfront will provide: space necessary for your activity(s), 8'
banquet tables, folding chairs, truck passes, access to trash receptacles,
water, power, 1 activity sign, additional signage opportunities, overnight
security, plus up to 25 Festival admission buttons, mention in Kids' Castle
literature and advertisement, recognition in Festival literature, and the
opportunity to place coupons, business cards or information in 3000 Kid's
Castle participant bags.
Please contact me at 815-964-4388 if anyone is interested in participating or
if you have any ideas for activities. Thank you for your help.
Sincerely,
Karen King
