no they cannot be mixed.  bottles have melt flows of less than one (i.e. fractional melts) and tubs have melt flows of about 40.

this refers to how runney or gooey the HDPE is...bottles require gooey resin to hold on the sides of the mold as the bottle walls harden, while tubs or caps need to fill fast and have runney resin.

Do HDPE recyclers mix narrow neck HDPE containers with tubs or do they have two batches?  Can you buy recycled HDPE pellets that are made of blown hdpe plastic and pellets from injection hdpe plastic?

EPIC and Amigo Environmental, both in Richmond, CA, buy injection HDPE.
Talco and HD Plastics, which are located in Southern California, buy
injection HDPE.
