In an effort to plug the New York City budget
deficit
projected over the next few years, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has proposed slashing the city's recycling program, even though it may ultimately cost the city more money than it would save. The Mayor wants to suspend the city's curbside recycling program for metal, glass, and plastic for 18 months, starting July 1st, 2002. Send a fax to Mayor Bloomberg today expressing your opposition to any suspension of New York City's recycling program.
