Melissa,
You might try the following sources as starting points. The EPA stuff
below is on their web site which by the way has a section devoted to
climate change and global warming (http://www.epa.gov/globalwarming/).
Check out the Office of Solid Waste (http://www.epa.gov/osw/) while you are
there. Then go to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(http://www.ipcc.ch/).
US Environmental Protection Agency. (2001). Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gas
Emissions from Developed Countries: 1990-2010. Washington, D.C., US
Environmental Protection Agency: 132.
US Environmental Protection Agency. (1998). Greenhouse Gas Emissions From
Management of Selected Materials in Municipal Solid Waste. Washington,
D.C., US Environmental Protection Agency: 122.
IPCC. (1997). IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. 3
volumes: Vol. 1, Reporting Instructions; Vol. 2, Workbook; Vol. 3,
Reference Manual. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, United Nations
Environment Programme, Organization for Economic Co-Operation and
Development, International Energy Agency. Paris, France.
IPCC. (1996). Climate Change 1995 - Contribution of Working Group I to the
Second Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change,
edited by J. T. Houghton, L. G. Meira Filho, B. A. Callander, N. Harris, A.
Kattenberg, and K. Maskell. Cambridge, UK: Cambridge University Press.
