    Here is an interesting article about a proposal of the Denmark EPA to use
    economic instruments to encourage the use of environmentally friendly
    packaging. The size of the tax is related to the amount of environmental
    impact, and aluminum receives the highest tax. The article also briefly
    mentions German efforts to encourage the use of PET over metal cans and one
    way glass.
