Beverage companies using these pouches are required to arrange for them to
be returned for refunds in British Columbia (and possibly other Cdn
provinces). The agency that the beverage producers established to handle
the recycling system, Encorp Pacific, has a website with info on containers
included: www.encorpinc.com Last I heard it was very challenging to find a market for these containers -- though as you can imagine it will be easier for a large single agency marketing them in large quantities than for a small school H.O.M.E. program. This is why producer responsibility makes sense. But if the containers prove difficult and expensive to recycle, then the producers will likely look for a different packaging. H.
