RE: [greenyes] Recovery of child restraint seats

The plastic from which the seats are made deteriorates from the heat and UV in the car. In addition, reuse stores have no way of knowing whether the restraint was ever involved in a crash, and even if the seat appears fine it may have been compromised.

Subject: [greenyes] Recovery of child restraint seats

Does anyone have a suggestion for the reuse or recovery of automotive child
restraint seats?

I got a call yesterday from a woman who said that these seats now have a
five year expiration label (the one she has expires at the end of this year)
and that Goodwill would not take hers because of the liability.

Thanks much,
