Thought you all might like to see this view about recycling in New York City from the UK: According to the article "High Diversion -- is it Achievable?", found in the July-August 2004 issue of Waste Management World (the journal of the International Solid Waste Association), "New York is the only US city to provide a full kerbside recycling service to all its households... It thus provides an important benchmark against which to assess the recycling performance of other large metropolitan conurbations."
