I do not disagree with Heidi's take on computer recycling responsibility…
HOWEVER …. If the manufacturers are responsible for taking care of their
product when it's life ends, they will be a lot more responsible when they
manufacture the devise in the first place, to ensure there is a cost-effective
way to reuse or recycle the materials. And if consumers pay the fee for
end-of-life responsibilities on the front end, they will know right away if they
want to pay for disposal or not. After the product is used up, no one wants
to pay a fee.
