Re: [GreenYes] Cost of recycled plastic in bottles
John,

This may not be exactly what you're looking for, but it may help. It is from
the Berkeley Plastics Task Force Report.

http://www.mindfully.org/Berkeley/Berkeley-Plastics-Task-Force.htm#5

"Recycled HDPE pellets cost $0.34/lb, almost as much as the $0.38/lb price
for virgin HDPE. Recycled PET pellets cost about $0.58/lb compared to
$0.76/lb for virgin material.[41] Economic return is reduced by the high
price of recycled resin and the practical requirement to use at least 50%
virgin resin to achieve desired performance."

            [41] Plastics News, January 1996.
