While all the suggestions for using sawdust in thecreation of products are
helpful, the most important consideration is what is local - in this case
Portland. Realistically, Kris will need to find a local operation to take
his sawdust in order to make the transaction a reality. So, given all of
the various suggestions -sawdust to compost, fire-starter logs, plastic
lumber, and for use as pet cage lining, Kris has a lot of research to do in
his local area.
What would be interesting is to find uses for the sawdust once it has been
used in animal cages. Has there ever been any work done in this area?
Composting?
