Great idea!  Thanks for the posting.

Did you know that beverage container wasting rate increased 52 percent in the 
United States between 1992 and 1999? Newly completed research by the 
Container Recycling Institute, using industry sources, shows 97 billion -- 
YES BILLION -- beverage containers wasted in 1999.  More on this in April 
2001.

Michigan, as you know, still has the highest beverage container recycling 
rate due to the 10-cent deposit.  What are you hearing about plans to expand 
the deposit system to include additional types of beverages, many which did 
not exist when the deposit law was passed?
