Clear plastic, polystyrene removed from Eugene,
Oregon-area recyclables

Styrofoam and clear plastic containers are not
recyclable in Lane County, Oregon, as of Tuesday. The
polystyrene products will no longer be collected for
recycling by local waste haulers because there is not a
viable market for them, according to county waste-
reduction staff. The change will affect all curbside
collection programs, drop sites and transfer stations in
Lane County.
