I am surprised to read this because a Professor Alka Zadgaonkar has managed to make cheap fuel out of plastic waste. Also, reported on Eco Tech, plastic lumbar product can be made out of plastic which is 10 times harder. See patent at following link on method and apparatus for forming an extruded plastic lumbar product from a co-mingled plastic waste feedstock. http://www.wipo.int/pctdb/en/wo.jsp?wo=1992020512 Here is an example of a finished product made from 100% recycled HDPE Plastic (milk jugs, etc.) and Polyester cord woven in a traditional style commonly associated with furniture caning. http://www.core77.com/blog/materials/future_perfect_as_in_i_will_have_made_5497.asp Mark Moskovitz, the creator, constructed it without powertools, glue, screws or other such fasteners.
