TITLE:

Associate Staff Analyst  (12627) (1 Position)  Senior Project Manager/ HPD Sustainable Initiatives

 

SALARY

$51,396 - $76,527

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Project Manager for the HPD Sustainability Initiatives will shape the future of HPD?s green and sustainable affordable housing programs.  The development of the HPD sustainable, green programs will have a direct and significant impact on the quality of life for residents in HPD supported buildings, the greater NYC environment and will have an overall impact on the affordable housing development market. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the candidate will be responsible for:
  • Working closely with HPD divisions to develop strategies and project plans for integrating sustainable housing specifications into new construction, rehabilitation and loan programs;
  • Overseeing and tracking sustainability programs and project progress across HPD divisions;
  • Managing the HPD Green Teams and working closely with the Green Team coordinators and team leaders;
  • Developing partnerships with public and private organizations invested in developing sustainable affordable housing;
  • Researching green design and construction practices and analyzing data;
  • Supporting the establishment of effective monitoring procedures for green projects;
  • Coordinating the publication of the HPD Green E-Newsletter; and
  • Representing HPD at public forums

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1.
              A master?s degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or a closely related field and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or  economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management, or in  related area; or

2.               A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in ?1? above.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS
  1. Demonstrated ability to successfully manage long term projects.
  2. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
  3. Knowledge of sustainable and green housing principles.
  4. Experience conducting meetings and facilitating team projects.
  5. Excellent research, analytical, writing and public speaking skills.
