[GreenYes] NYC Recycling Roundtable Announcement

The New York City Citywide Recycling Advisory Board (CRAB) and the Center
for Economic and Environmental Partnership, Inc. (CEEP) are pleased to
announce that a second Roundtable on the Future of Recycling in New York
City will be held on March 26-27, 2007. Now that the City's Solid Waste
Management Plan is in place and the Department of Sanitation's Waste
Characterization Study is complete and with the creation of the new Mayor's
Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability as well as the Office of
Recycling Outreach and Education, this appears to be the perfect time to
follow up on the highly successful and groundbreaking 2002 Recycling

Once again, we plan to invite experts from industry, government and
environmental organizations from around the region and the country along
with local policy makers, business and civic leaders to explore critical
issues such as improving residential recycling diversion and capture rates;
understanding and improving the commercial collection and processing
systems; diverting organics from both the residential and commercial waste
streams; construction and demolition debris recycling; and legislative and
regulatory issues.

Details about the roundtable will be coming out soon, but you'll definitely
want to mark the March 26-27 dates on your calendar now.
