Anyone out there have a tire collection program that is working? Contract with a company that will take them (preferably recycle)? Two studies have hit the air waves here in Idaho... 1) "broken windows" the theory that broken windows, litter, and graffiti instigate more of the same (as a result, neighborhood clean-ups have become very popular with tires being the only material we can't figure out how to get rid of); and, 2) tires are breeding grounds for the West Nile virus which hit Idaho very hard this past year (with an El Nino winter predicted, 2007 will be worse). Tires are huge and we're at a loss on disposal options and potential funding sources. All comments are appreciated.
