Are they worried about plastic mugs changing the flavor of the beer?
Glass and ceramic shouldn't cause a problem (though that might be my
own personal opinion).

We are having a zero waste event here in NYC and will be giving away
some promotional ceramic mugs donated by a local non-profit.  They are
giveaways, but they are also to be used at the event in lieu of
disposables.  Perhaps you can find a similar arrangement where you are.
