Please feel free to forward to interested parties. *+*+ Position: Drop-off Station Facility Manager Recycle Ann Arbor, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is in immediate need for a motivated Drop-off Station facility manager. The drop-off station is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and accepts approximately 6500 tons per year of recyclables, green waste, and municipal and C&D wastes. Materials are accepted for recycling, composting, and disposal, with fees associated with some materials, and the facility is open 6 days a week year-round, from 9-5. Successful candidate will manage up to ten permanent and temporary staffpersons, and oversee retail operations for facility with annual operating budget of $500,000. About Recycle Ann Arbor: Founded in 1978, Recycle Ann Arbor provides education and innovative services in the collection, processing, and distribution of recyclable materials. Born from a grassroots movement, Recycle Ann Arbor introduced the first curbside recycling program in Michigan. The organization has continued to seek out new and innovative programs and services to reduce waste and increase recycling, such as operating the state's largest drop-off station, which handles 6,500 tons per year, and the ReUse Center, a 20,000 square-foot retail outlet for donated goods otherwise destined for disposal. Recycle Ann Arbor also provides satellite recycling services to rural communities and operates the Environmental House, a green demonstration space. Position Summary: Oversee staff & operations of public waste disposal & recycling facility, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Essential Duties: Manages staff of approximately ten people. Prepares annual operational budget. Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications. Formulates & coordinates program specifications, requirements, for proposals and contracts. Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Develops new markets for recyclable materials. Ideal Candidate: Bachelor's degree, 2+ yrs Management/supervisory experience in a union environment. 4+ yrs facilities management experience.
