The California Integrated Waste Management Board has excellent
resources for the purposes you're seeking. You may have to do some
navigating to get to exactly what you want, but I recall finding these
types of standards on their website. Try this link...

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone could refer me to good sources for the
following:

a) Standards for number of employees based on known square footage of
commercial space
b) Standards for waste generation rates for commercial uses (e.g.,
pounds generated per square foot of retail, warehouse, grocery, etc.)

The only standards I've been able to locate are from these web sites:
