Announcement - Recycling Member Services/Special Projects Position Available The Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA) is a twenty five year old, non profit recycling cooperative which assists its members develop efficient, effective and economical recycling programs. With offices based in Chichester, New Hampshire, five full time and two part time employees work with over 275 members. This position involves working with Co-op members to help them with the day to day operation of their recycling programs, as well as assist them with long range planning. Additional responsibilities would include work on "special projects" such as grant applications, the Annual Recycling Conference agenda, new recycling programs and various other activities. Knowledge and skills important for this position include the ability to: *work in a team oriented environment, as well as independently, *plan, develop and implement programs to educate recycling center employees, volunteers and municipal officials, *speak, write and communicate effectively, especially public speaking, *establish and maintain working relationships with volunteer groups, municipal and state officials, *understand the technical aspects of recycling/solid waste management field and, * present a strong, positive public image. Great people skills are imperative. A working knowledge of recyclables markets, specifications and processing is also important. The position involves some travel in order to provide on site technical assistance and attend meetings. Some evening work may be required. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental education or related area of study and experience working with municipal government and/or recycling transfer station OR any equivalent combination of experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
