Penn and Teller, the irreverent and edgy comedy magicians are taking on recycling, in the next episode of their documentary TV show "Bullshit!" on the Showtime network, Thursday 4/29 at 10:00 pm. Eastern/pacific. Their program claims as its purpose to debunk popular myths and "expose the truth to an otherwise desperate and gullible public." No doubt the segment will prove to be a hatchet job on recycling since the producers were placing heavy reliance on "The Eight Great Myths of Recycling" and comparably publications from the American Enterprise Institute and Competitive Enterprise Institute. I was interviewed for the segment, and I know interviews were conducted with Neil Seldman of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and Chaz Miller of NSWMA. I don't know who among the vocal critics of recycling will appear on the program. I have not seen the tape and do not have cable service. If anyone out there in GreenYes land is a Showtime subscriber, can tune in Thursday night, and report back, that would be much appreciated. The show will repeat next week, I think.
