We use the denim pencils and kids love them because it's something they wear most every day. I haven't had a problem using them in electric sharpeners so long as I'm not doing a whole bunch, they do make the sharpener work a bit harder so it gets warm faster, but I've done 10-15 in a sitting with no problems. I was told by the vendor that they are #2 lead. I like how they write too. We have used both Rainbow Environmental, http://www.ecopromo.com and Stan Miller & Associates, mcgurer@no.address for these types of items. I have had good experiences with both companies. I am looking to buy some recycled content pencils for our kids tours of our recycling plant. I recall hearing opinions on which kind work better but don't remember which one folks said were best. Looks like the options are: Recycled denim Recycled money recycled newspaper/cardboard cafeteria trays?? (from memory) Any recommendations of where to buy/order these would also be appreciated.
