[greenyes] Mercury product legislation update

So far, in the 2003-2004 legislative session, at least 126 bills to restrict
or recycle mercury-containing products have been introduced at the state,
local or federal level in the US, with at least 20 having been adopted into
law. In the latest estimate available, about 240 tons of mercury are used in
products in the US each year, compared to about 48 tons that are emitted
from coal-burning power plants annually.

I would be glad to send a copy of a list summarizing the introduced and
adopted legislation to anyone who is interested.
