[GreenYes] Battery recycling

Walgreen's and a few local hardware stores in San Francisco also take
batteries for recycling. Admittedly, I don't know how valid these programs
are, nor if Walgreen's collects batteries outside of the bubble of San
Francisco.

Does anyone know if any places or stores still take and recycle
batteries
(A, AA, AAA, etc)?  Radioshak does not at least at the locations I have
visited.
