San Francisco (Golden Gate Disposal and Recycling Co., part of Norcal waste)
has brand spankin-new split compartment trucks. They are semi-automated for
use with "toter" cans. I think they use them for trash and recycling,
although they have a 3-stream collection system (trash, recycling, and food
waste/compostables), so I'm not sure if they send out a second truck just to
collect the compostables.
Oakland CA also uses split compartment trucks for trash and yard waste.

Subject: [GreenYes] Split Compartment Packer Truck Use
Hello All
I am searching for examples of split-compartment packer truck use (either
using automated containers or handloading). For example, picking up trash
and recyclables or trash and green waste or recyclables and green waste in
the same truck on the same residential route.
Any leads to cities or companies with this system would be very much
appreciated. Thanks!
