Most information published by government agencies usually only refer
to:
Ni-Cd and Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. There are others that need to
be on the lists.
The below was taken directly from the website of the Rechargeable
Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC).

Which rechargeable batteries can be recycled?
The following rechargeable battery chemistries can be recycled -
Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH), Lithium Ion
(Li-ion), and Small Sealed Lead* (Pb). Look for the Battery Recycling
Seal on the battery.
