I sent CBS an e-mail yesterday; thanks to the original poster for
the e-mail address.

Independent of this I recently [prior to that CBS broadcast] overheard two
conversations--one at my workplace, one in a restaurant--where people
sounded quite serious about chucking the lights with the tree after the
holidays.  The disposable brainwashing influence must be coming from
somewhere.
