Dear GreenYes folks:

Have any of you heard of the World Resource Foundation? They put out a
newsletter in May called the Warmer Bulletin with an information sheet on
plastics. I am trying to find out what kind of group this is, what their
affiliations are, how they are funded, and what their mission is. Can
anyone give me the low-down? I do know they are in the UK.

Thanks, Hatti Koth

Hatti,

Warmer started -- approximately 10 years ago I believe -- as a group
interested in waste-to-energy plants (promoting them if I recall
correctly.) Their bulletin was fairly reliable though slightly biased.
I think they relied primarily on industry funding with the remainder
coming from foundations and members. They used to send me information
when I wrote on renewables and recycling at the Worldwatch Institute. I
haven't had contact with them in recent years, however, so it's possible
they may have changed.

programs such as PRISM (Preserving Resources through Integrated Sustainable
Management of waste)and the Warmer Bulletin (including article excerpts).
After you review what they have to say about themselves you can always
e-mail your questions for a response. It is my understanding that this
organization has been active for a number of years though I have not had any
direct contact with them. However, I think their web site is a very good
resource, especially about European related waste management issues.
