Here is another stab at this. I don't have a lot of time right now, but
would offer this for further consideration. It is still way shy of "done."

ZERO WASTE CAMPAIGN MISSION STATEMENT

The Grassroots Recycling Network is a network of recycling activists,
business people, environmentalists, and other conservatives who believe
America's waste-based economy is out of balance with the requirements of a
sustainable future.

Our vision for a sustainable future is ZERO WASTE. Zero waste is an
appropriate goal for society in that it conserves natural resources,
protects biodiversity, saves wilderness, creates jobs, and requires ending
welfare for wasting. ZERO WASTE will require public and private investments
in reduction, reuse and recycling and it will require-(wrong word)
manufacturers to design products for reuse, repair and recycling. Finally,
ZERO WASTE means phasing out landfills and incinerators as disposal options.

VISION STATEMENT

In order to achieve our mission GRN members will work to stop subsidies for
mining, harvesting and wasting our natural resources. We will oppose practices
that transfer environmental and economic liabilities to future generations. GRN
members, will work to achieve a sustainable economy by advocating public and
private policies and programs to reduce, reuse and recycle discarded materials.

????We will achieve our mission through the work of each and every member,
individually and collectively. We will ??raise awareness of the issues,
provide education and outreach to __________ (whom?) and we will work with
eleced officials at all levels of government to bring about ZERO WASTE in
Minnesota.

[Gary Liss's GRN MISSION STATEMENT for comparison]

The Grassroots Recycling Network (GRN) is an ad hoc coalition of
recycling activists, business people, environmentalists, waste facility
opponents and others dedicated to conserving our human and natural
resources. GRN members want to stop subsidies for mining,
harvesting and wasting our natural resources and oppose practices
that transfer environmental liabilities to future generations . GRN
works to achieve a sustainable economy by advocating public and
private policies and programs to reduce, reuse and recycle discarded
materials.
