Thanks for the Fred Lee piece on landfills. I'd love a copy of the more
detailed piece you refer to. This kind of financial figure - $40 to $100 per
ton for perpetual maintenance to prevent groundwater contamination - is
exactly the sort of result I thought the Full Cost Accounting Subcommittee
was going to work on at NRC. I attended one meeting of that subcommittee a
couple of years ago, and although I didn't have time to continue
participating because of various other commitments, I thought they were
really going to gather this kind of information. But the committee chair and
membership changed, and we got the NREL report instead.
