FYI..since we're talking bottle bills... On Wednesday, October 4, the Virginia-Pilot reported that Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine (D) announced during a guest lecture at Old Dominion University that he would have no problem signing a "bottle bill" requiring deposits on beverage containers. The article also said the Governor did not expect such a measure to happen any time soon, given that such measures have failed to pass in the legislature. A link to the article is below. GMA will continue to monitor and work with in-state and national allies to oppose implementation of a beverage container deposit law in Virginia.
