Thank you all for your insights, suggestions, information, comments, etc.
FYI I got good data from City Minneapolis, Charlotte/Mecklenburg NC and several national MRF studies by RW Beck and others Then for what it's worth, confabulated all that into a container breakdown by weight that includes:
20% plastic bottles
11% steel cans
6% aluminum cans
and
61% glass bottles and jars

Only 1 in 5 plastic bottles is now recycled in Orange County.
