Principal Solid Waste Planner
Metro (Portland, Oregon regional government)
One full-time position
$60,651.48 - $81,183.84 annually
Closing date:  September 22, 2006
 
Leads solid waste planning on priority projects, from development of
methodologies to policy recommendations for Metro Council.  Performs
highly skilled solid waste planning and conducts technical analysis that
provides information for key decisionmakers.  Interacts with the public,
other agencies and private interests.  Recommends department policy and
financial strategies, and makes commitments with a minimum of direction
and guidance from immediate supervisors.  Provides lead direction to
other planners and support staff.  Supervision is received from the
Policy and Program Manager.
 
Minimum qualifications:  Master's degree in economics, public
administration, environmental studies, urban planning, business
administration or a related field.  Five years' experience in solid
waste, project management, public policy development, or any combination
of education and experience that provides the applicant with the
knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.
