Foundry sand is usually clean if the foundry collect sand directly to
Silos at the end of the process. Usually from ghisa foundry you find
65% of SIO2 and 20% of FeO2

Cement industry use it a lot. If you want to use this sand you have to
remember that there's  an high organic composistion - bentonite - and
it's considered environment polluting.
