[greenyes] FL Needs Help on Cleanup from Hurricane

Apologies for Cross-Postings
Temporary Jobs Available
Hurricane Charley Recovery Effort

Field Supervisors Needed
Solid Resources, Inc., provides post hurricane debris removal monitoring services for FEMA-related disasters. They have several contracts with Florida communities and will need professional and dependable people that are available to work 12 hour days, six/seven days per week for 1-3 months.

They need 4 field supervisors to manage crews of 13-30 people working on hurricane cleanup, in 4 different counties. Pay is $30/hour (no overtime), as temporary full-time positions funded by FEMA.

They're looking for reliable, hard-working people with supervisory experience and background in routing, with knowledge in solid waste or recycling a plus. Supervisors do NOT need to know how to work with heavy equipment.

Supervising curbside debris truck loading, and monitoring field and site operations. The majority of the material is yard debris, which is generally being recycled.

Person must be a quick study on FEMA rules & regs (they?ll help train) and be a good people person to oversee personnel issues & interface with clients. Experience with disasters a BIG plus for supervisors.

They'll probably cover housing expenses, and the flight there. Supervisors would cover their own transportation (must have a car), food expenses and must have a cell phone.

Field and Disposal Site Monitors

They also need field and disposal site monitors. They will need approximately 10+ additional people. Must have a car and cell phone for these positions as well, and be able to read a map, follow directions and document collection activity - we will train. The job can include working on landfills documenting truck activities and directing traffic, assessing payload quantities, signing and issuing truck manifests, and reporting general observations.

There is no need for experience ? just professionalism and offers those without experience a real potential to move up quickly with good background and some field experience. A background in solid waste, engineering, surveying, inspection and/or construction is preferable.

Site monitors will be paid $20/hour. For monitors cannot pay for travel ? just hourly & housing in some communities (some communities just don?t have it, as they have been levelled).

Applicant must be willing to commit for a block of 14 days, work long hours and follow through.
