An upcoming EPA WasteWise workshop for hospitals - of relevance to anyone
with waste/recycling or environmental responsibilities at hospitals or
healthcare facilities.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's voluntary WasteWise partnership
program provides organizations with cutting-edge waste reduction strategies.
On May 13, 2003, WasteWise will offer a workshop on resource management (RM)
to hospitals in the New England region. RM is an innovative waste management
contracting strategy that allows organizations to reduce costs while
improving resource efficiency. This workshop will introduce hospitals to RM;
highlight RM case studies by experienced speakers; and provide an RM manual
offering guidance on assessing waste streams, developing an RFP, and
designing a comprehensive waste management plan. In addition, the workshop
will include brief sessions on WasteWise, Hospitals for a Healthy
Environment, Energy STAR, and HIPPA regs.  For more information, and for the
