Robin Ingenthron of The Commenwealth of Massachusetts, Division of Waste 
Management, made an interesting presentation at the NRC this week that 
included the concept of using special and low cost software that emulates the 
windows environment offers basic programs, such as web browser, word 
prcessor, spreadsheets, email, etc.  that will run on 286, 386, and 486 
computers.  These computers could then be used in schools to allow greater 
access for students, especially in the lower grade levels.  This seems like a 
valuable reuse option.
