According to Toms' recycling information sheet, their stick deodorant =
container is made from #5 and the stick platform is #2. Since they know =
the number, maybe they can add this to the package. They do have a web =
site, but it might be more effective to send a real letter to the woman =
who responded to my inquiry.

I use Secret deodorant (never thought that I would be proclaiming that =
internationally!!!!) I sent several e-mails to Proctor and Gamble =
asking the same questions that you asked about Tom's. I have listed =
their responses below:
On 4-7-99 they sent me the following message:
Thanks for your message, Veronica.
We appreciate your feedback about our site. I'm not sure which Secret =

you're using so I've listed the recycling information below.

Thanks again.

I immediately responded asking them to put the number on the package. I =
did not get a response so on 5-6-99 I asked again. On 5-12-99 I got the =
following:
Hi, Veronica.
I've shared your suggestions with our Packaging Team. Since I don't =
work very=20
closely with them, I haven't heard anything. =20
I wish I could be more helpful.
Kim

I wrote back the same day to say:
Hello Kim,
Thank you for getting back to me. Do you have an email address for =
someone
on the packaging team? That way, I can deal with them directly.
Sincerely,
Veronica
On 5-13-99 they sent the following message:
Thanks for your message.
We don't have a direct address, but be assured, your comments were =
forwarded to=20
our packaging team.

I am still waiting....Perhaps now it is easier to see why I considered =
the response from Tom's a success..
