[GRRN] Third draft of EU directive on Electrical and Electronic Equipment

The third draft of the European Union's proposal for the handling of
electrical and electronic equipment is available for viewing at the web
page http://www.eia.org/grd/eic/weee3.html

The draft includes manufacturers' responsibility for eliminating some
hazardous materials as well as their responsibility for taking back used
equipment.

The US electronics industry is opposed to the draft requirements and an
article that describe some of their objections is in the August 26th issue
of <underline>Solid Waste Report</underline>.
