In light of Peter's recent messages re: global warming, I thought some of
you might
be interested in the following.

The "Role of Waste Diversion in Iowa's Climate Change Action Plan" (May,
1999) uses information from the state of Iowa to demonstrate how
"upstream" greenhouse gas implications of source reduction and recycling
can be quantified
and considered in the context of state climate change action plans and
policies. The
research was sponsored by a cooperative agreement between EPA Region VII,
the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Tellus Institute.
