Thank you for this information. This practice was anticipated by the
continuing redefinition of low level radioactive waste, so that it can be
used with MSW. The low level radioactive waste dumps have been challenged,
so now the stuff can go right into landfills, or be burned, take your choice.
We hope that we stopped one at Ward Valley. It is my belief that our local
landfills are filled with it, at least with hospital radioactive waste. In
addition radioactive material is being used to harden the tips of smart bombs
that are being dropped on Iraq and Yugoslavia (hardened tips causing
thousands of mutatations in children). There is also its routine use as a
inhibitor of spoilage in fresh fruit and other food products (meat?). Sue
