Thank you for posting the Wisconsin letter. Between this and the Los Angeles
City Council resolution, it looks as though some public officials may actually
provide the leverage to get the Miller plastic beer bottle concerns addressed
directly, at least in terms of technical recyclabilty.
Market issues are likely to remain a problem under current economic
conditions, unless Miller takes responsibility for the used bottles in some
form of buy back. This seems to mean Miller would have to pay a premium for
sorting, baling and shipping in specific local markets.
I wonder how committed the company and industry are to reclaiming this
material?
