BOTTLE BILL INTRODUCED IN VA WILL BE HEARD ON FEB 8TH IN SEN AG AND NR
COMMITTEE

A bottle bill has been introduced in VA for the first time in five years by
Sen. Madison Marye of Shawsville, VA (804/698-7539) Montgomery County. Sen
Marye represents the counties of Montgomery, Grayson, Smyth, Pulaski and
part of Carroll. Marye is Chairman of the Senate Agriculture and Natural
Resources Committee.

DETAILS OF SB-1335:

* 10-cent deposit on all metal, glass and plastic and beverage
containers
* Unclaimed deposits would go to the state

DETAILS OF HEARING ON SB-1335:

* The bill (HB 1335) will be presented to the Senate Agriculture
Committee on February 8th. The committee convenes at 8 am.
